As the father of anime, Osamu Tezuka could not be left off a “top title” list. He has many contenders, but Astro Boy stands alone as his true masterpiece. (Though early in his career, Astro Boy was the first title to imagine robots living among humans.) With his Mickey Mouse-inspired looks, super powers, and hot pants, Astro Boy has zoomed his way into the televisions and hearts of anime fans old and new.
